Review: Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation

This is very disappointing, especially because I consider MUFE Face & Body Foundation to be a magical potion that makes me look like my skin is amazing. I am the one person anyone ever heard of who didn’t like the original MUFE HD Foundation at all (it made me look shiny). In Ultra HD I found Y375 (Golden Sand) to be a great match for my skin. (FYI I match NARS Stromboli). Ultra HD is a watery liquid that spreads easily and sets quickly (somehow it doesn’t feel as lightweight as Face & Body though). While this looks quite nice as it;s being applied, it sheers out so much it doesn’t cover any discolourations. I’ve tried layering this for more coverage, but it streaks, and it still doesn’t even-out my skin.

The strangest thing about this, is it doesn’t “add” anything to my skin, and I swear this has some shimmer in it (or it just makes me that much more oily). The shimmer is subtle, but it’s enough to look glimmery in sunlight. It doesn’t add the plumping texture of Face & Body. It does melt into my skin, but it doesn’t really enhance its appearance. On my skin the noticeable difference between this and, say, Bare Minerals Serum, is the price. For my skin, the makeup that truly gives me full coverage but feels light as air is Clinique Beyond Perfecting.
