the jumbo drawstring bag crosses the finish line at about fifteen to sixteen inches high, so its volume can handle everyday use or travel. it is easy to make, and for its size, uses relatively little yarn (6 balls.) because it is knit with a single strand of yarn, even with its size, it is neither bulky nor heavy. since no special closures are needed, it is a joy to make because no time has to be spent with adding snaps or zippers to secure the top. when traveling, "jumbo" actually enjoys being stuffed under an airline seat, or tossed around the inside of the car.
