• During art walk evening, on Saturday, October 11 2008 in Galveston, Texas, the Zany Lady will be the featured artist at Tina's, on The Strand. Her current collection of felted knit hats will be on sale there.

• The Zany Lady will return to Alice Springs, Northern Territory, for the Alice Springs Beanie Festival during the weekend of June 27 2008. She will enter the Mardi Gras hat in the competition. Also, she will teach a one-day workshop on felted knit beanies.

• The Zany Lady is featuring Malabrigo worsted yarn in the upcoming pattern series, patterns #8-12. Malabrigo's color spectrum is fantastic, replete with beautiful color choices and subtle variations in color because of their kettle-dying technique. Patterns will be appearing throughout the months of December '07 and January '08, so do keep checking for their status.
These new creations are knit with a single strand of yarn. The resulting felt is very pliable--great for hats! It is also very soft, and therefore very fetching. The cost of "big" felting projects is considerably reduced with single-stranding, as is the overall weight and bulk of the project.
